According to the Illinois Department of Professional Regualtion:

Sec. 6. Prohibitions. All boxing matches, contests, or exhibits in which physical contact is made including, but not limited to, "ultimate fighting exhibitions", are prohibited in Illinois unless authorized by the Department.

Sec. 7. In order to conduct a boxing contest in this State, a promoter shall obtain a permit issued by the Department in accordance with this Act and the rules and regulations adopted pursuant thereto.
